The North Peace Seniors Housing Society is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and enriching communal activities for senior citizens in Fort St. John and the surrounding area since 1966.
We proudly manage four buildings with 144 self-contained units: 100 of these are fully independent apartments, while 44 units offer 2 daily meals, allowing seniors to live comfortably with added meal support. Our facilities—North Peace Seniors Housing Society Apartments 1, 2, 3, and 4—are designed to foster a strong, connected community. A minimum age of 60 helps ensure a safe, inclusive, and community-centered environment.
While we are not government-subsidized or operated, eligible seniors may apply for the SAFER (Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters) subsidy, which provides tax-free rental assistance. Information and application forms for this program can be found below.
We are grateful for the partnerships that help us sustain our mission, such as the Better at Home Program, which supports local seniors in extending their independence by offering light housekeeping, laundry, and Meals at Home services. This program, funded by the United Way of BC and generous donors, makes these services accessible and affordable for our community members, as well as the Fort St John and surrounding areas seniors.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or helping to spread our mission, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
